Yield is a crucial issue for all food processing businesses.  It isn’t always about overall yield, though. Ensuring we have the best possible yield on high-value products at the expense of lower-value products is critical for many clients.

How do you measure or calculate your yield? Do you take account of customer returns because of manufacturing issues when calculating your results, for example?

We consider everything that occurs in between your raw material purchases and delivered goods invoiced. Only by seeing the complete picture can we start to understand yields fully.

We do, however, understand that it isn’t always about yield. Most importantly, it is the cost-effective yield that is generally most important.

We will spend most of our site time on your factory floor understanding what is occurring during production on your processing and packing lines. We will also spend time in the areas that other dislike – the waste collection areas. By studying what you are sending away as waste, we can see what should have gone into saleable products. We will work hand in hand with you over an agreed timeline to make change happen efficiently. We can typically start this process for you within a few days.
